It will be a tale of extremes for the West and East Coasts this week!
After a year of winter rain with many totals running 150% of normal and a snowpack of nearly 180% normal, California is now basking in Spring-like weather. High temperatures are running in the mid to upper 70s for much of the state.
It won’t be surprising to see a few temperatures sneak into the 80s today! Those highs are running about 10 degrees above average! It’s actually a much needed break for California that has experienced numerous floods and mudslides this season.
However, on the East Coast– it’s an entirely different story.
The biggest winter storm of the season is now headed their way and could bring epic amounts of snow and blizzard conditions affecting millions of of people. A foot or more of snow is in forecast for New York, Boston, Baltimore, & Philadelphia to name a few. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible especially near the coast as this Nor’Easter moves through late Monday and Tuesday.
Needless to say it’s going to be a mess and air travel delays are a certainty.
